Yesterday, Waffle had her oncology recheck in Burlington, Vermont. It has been a year since we first found cancer in her lung and I am overjoyed to say that after surgery to remove it and chemo to treat it, her scans were clean.
Waffle is (still) officially cancer free!!!
Yes, at ten years old, after an emergency splenectomy, hind leg paralysis, spine surgery, re-learning to walk, a cancer diagnosis, lung surgery and chemotherapy, she is still here and she is officially cancer free and healthy!!!!
Holy wow. What a gift.
So, in honor of that incredible news, I’m taking this week off of geeking out in front of you all. Instead, Dave, Waffle, Tug and I are off to celebrate the profound gift this clean bill of health is with Waffy’s favorite things — snow, snowmersaults, a good long hike followed by an equally good nap and of course, cheeseburgers.
We’ll be back next Saturday as we begin our adventure into learning about yoga but until then, we hope you tread lightly on yourselves and choose you — whatever that looks like.
With love and snugs.
Kindly,
Kate
I'm so incredibly happy for you all, what wonderful news!! From my BMD, Juno and I, we wish you all an amazing weekend! I've had my own bout with the big ugly 'C', so I know how nerve wracking, and real, the scanxiety is, I'm so grateful that she's still clear and healthy!! Enjoy your beautiful family!!
This is the best news!🐾💕 From one Berner mom to another (and having lost Berners to cancer) I wish you and Waffle health, happiness and peace!
