Today, I get to again share my wonderful dad with you all. Today, in the second of the two-part series, we talk about how he navigated my learning disability as a parent and then how he went on to continue that same approach of loving presence throughout my decade-long struggle with suicidality and serious mental illness. To me, my father is exactly that — my dad. He is the man who taught me to love and persevere in the great outdoors no matter the weather and endowed me with a passion for music as well as a deep respect for its power in healing and building community. He is also the best coffee cake baker, French braider, and handyman I know. And above all, he is the role model I look to when ‘I think of kind curiosity and how to use it as I move through the world.
